Wake up call

Timeline: Early morning (0600 hrs)

His quarters were dark, silent. Except for some light snoring there was no noise. The silence was broken by =="Commander Price there's an urgent message coming in for you!"==

With a groan Ryan rolled over pawing his com-badge "Price here..." not hiding the fact his sleep had been interupted.

=="Sorry to wake you sir, we've arrived at the crash site of the supply ship, we need you to get down here, we found something..."== the voice said

Still in a sleep induced stupor Ryan could only utter out "What did you find?"

=="Shipping crates with vials of some kind, Lieutenant Mendez said your the expert on the Jemhidar nearby so we'd like for you to beam down."==

Ryan had sat up as he was hearing the report, "Give me forty maybe an hour, I'll let the watch officer and CO know what's going on, don't touch the vials, it might be wise to pull your teams back until we get there." he paused "Get a medic with narcotic detox kits as well in case this is that drug Ketricel White."

=="Sir?"== the confusion was obvious in his voice

"If it's this drug some humanoids can become heavily addicted, don't let anyone near them." Ryan was attempting to get dressed, he'd pulled on a field unform "I'll be there soon as I can."

=="Yes sir."== the voice said =="I'll begin taking precautions right away, out"== the link ended.

"Computer whose the current watch officer?" Ryan asked

The mechanical voice replied almost promptly "Commander Stoffels"

Ryan stopped short of swearing, Behave...be cool, be...cool

"Commander Stoffels This is Price, we have a situation planet side I'd like to take an away team down to assist." Ryan said into the com system Please don't turn this into a thing he thought.

Toni had been pretty bored sitting on the bridge at this time of day. She had some padds with reports to wade through but it was not exactly riviting.

"Seeing the time of day I surmise this is urgent. Take Lt London with you and stay in touch on progress..." She pauzed for a minute careful on how to phrase things with Price. "Brief me on what this is about as soon as you can."

Ryan slowed to a walk as he made his way down the corridor "A ground team found large quantities of the drug Ketracel White in the wreckage of a crashed freighter, along with other items on Intelligences priority list, looks like I'm bumping up my away mission by a few hours, I'm going too keep the size of the away team too the minimum in case some of the vials have ruptured, this stuff is extremely addictive." pausing as the door opened too his office he grabbed his pack "I don't even want any medical staff mainly for safety reasons."

"I do want you to keep the CMO up to date. He is also an expert when it comes to medicine." Toni fought to keep her voice neutral. "We work as a team, commander. Now I do understand your need for speed and I am not stopping you. But take security and rethink taking someone from medical, please."

Ryan opened a cabinet in the main office pulling out three bags and and additional three cylinders, "Considering the level of unknowns involved I want too keep the numbers as small as possible, If sickbay has a medic handy they can join the mission otherwise I'll keep medical on speed dial."

"Lt London is qualified as a combat medic." Toni replied. "She would tick two boxes. Will you be in contact with commander Pallara? He can keep us all updated then."

"Even better, this stuff is bad news at full strength, the security guys who found it won't go any closer too the freighter." Ryan said "I'm on my way too transporter room three."

"Ok, keep us posted." Toni said, she was relieved that they were able to work together now without any fights. She guessed that they both had to keep their tempers leashed though.

As Ryan exited the intel office, "Will do." he paused at the com channel closed the "Lieutenant Fox too transporter room three for an away mission urgent!"
