Mission:
Those who are left behind
Location: Crash site
Timeline: Part two 0640hrs
On:
The duo materialized about fifty meters back from the wreckage, Ryan looked ahead too the crashed ship. If you looked at the ship from the distance they were at you'd think it was a common freighter, but upon closer examination you'd see features that were common too all Dominion ships. Ryan looked to his companion for this mission, Lieutenant Alexandra Fox a commissioned paramedic had been assigned. He'd found her to be acceptable, she was a bit high strung for his liking and context of this mission.
A ground trooper trotted over, "Commander Ryan, I'm Sergeant Wilson."
"What have we got?" Ryan said getting down to business.
"We found two containers that match the briefing material we got, they looked to be intact but we figured we'd call in the expert and just keep things secure." the trooper said.
Looking in the general direction of the hull breach Ryan spoke "Keep everyone back, I'm going too walk over and take a look."
"We didn't detect any traps of any kind, this ship is safe." Wilson said
"I want to verify a couple of things then we can begin salvage operations," he paused hauling out a cylinder from his pants pocket "I've got an emergency narcotic exposure hypo, but if I use it I have maybe five minutes to get medical attention." holding up the cylinder.
"Sir it might be better if I accompany you." The medic said
He reached into his pack "Take this then." handing her a bag
Alexandra opened the bag revealing a hazmat mask. "Is it that serious?"
"Starfleets first encounter with the drug resulted in five deaths and two more being permanently institutionalized." Ryan said dryly.
As the two officers secured the masks Ryan spoke through the mask in a muffled manner "If things go sideways call for an emergency extraction."
Getting a thumbs up from the troopers Ryan turned and started to approach the crashed spaceship, the gravel and debris crunching under his feet, the beeping and chatter of his tricorder as they got down to just under a meter from the ship Ryan gestured to the section of the hull that was ripped open, Ryan move over too the opening, Ryan pulled out a flashlight making a simple sweep of the area, he found a computer module on the ground picking it up he put it in is pack he then saw his quarry the two containers, he scanned the containers, Bingo! he thought to himself, he forced the mechanical lock open. there in precise neat rows were the vials of the drug, as they had been described in the numerous briefings, he examined the vials with his tricorder, "Lieutenant Fox" Ryan called into his communicator "Confirmed we have two crates of the drug aboard."
The medic who was standing just outside the freighter spoke "Are they intact?"
Ryan back in the ship was examining the containers "One of them is intact, the other isn't there's significant damage too the other one, and leakage." Ryan paused "I'm contaminated, I must have touched the ....." Ryan paused as he jammed the hypo into his neck "Start the clock!" Ryan stood running towards the hull breach, he stumbled a couple of times as got closer Ryan stripped off his mask as he got closer too the opening he'd pulled out a cloth from his pants pocket trying to wipe as much of the liquified drug off of his hands.
Alexandra had already put on gloves awaiting the arrival of the intelligence officer her mask was still on "Come one! Come on!" she screamed waving him too the opening, "Resolution this is Fox on the away team biohazard medical emergency stand by for emergency sight to sight beam out!"
She reached into her field kit pulling out a hypo and jammed it into his arm emptying the contents. Ryan held up the two vials "Bag them, and lets get back...." Ryan passed out, Alexandra's tricorder started the howl of cardiac arrest "Resolution emergency beam out now now now!"
