Late night chat

Posted on Fri Jun 27th, 2025 @ 11:22pm by Captain Xavier Carey & Commander Antonia 'Tony" Stoffels

Mission: Those who are left behind
Location: Corridor
Timeline: Current

Xavier couldn't sleep, though the three had worn themselves out, per the usual sexual endeavour. With the twins finally sleeping, and the other two asleep as well, he took a stroll the large window overlooking space, some debris... and everything else. The vast expanse. It was one of the reasons he missed the void, but that was then, this is now. Now he had to deal with his past that had come up.

Toni just came off a nightshift on the bridge when she was taking the scenic route back to her quarters. She was surprised to see Xavier up and about this late. "Hey! Trouble sleeping?"

"All those years ago, it seems we came full circle. My dad was right."

Toni cam closer to him, she had been afraid that this would bring back old memories. "About what?"

"They betrayed the alpha quadrant. Joined the enemy. Like he said they would if given the chance, that war wasnt finished yet. But his vision came true."

"Unfortunately. It does not however what he did right or what you did wrong, Xavier. You know this."

"Oh I know, but one can wonder." He replied as he maintained is gaze out the window to the vastness of space.

She touched his arm gently. "Do you need an emergency session? You know my door is always open for you. Or do you need a friend?"

"Honestly I don't know. Why me... is it coincidence or something more."

"coincidence." Toni said firmly. "I stand by all decisions you made in the past. What you did was not easy but it was the right thing to do."

"One of the security officers guarding the prisoner mentioned something about him having a civilian visitor? That is something Commander Price avoided telling me. Or forgot about."

"A civilian? We don't have that many civilians on board. Do you know who it was?" This was disturbing.

"Negative, its something I want to discuss with you and Commander Milton, something doesn't fit here. Call it a gut feeling." He paused "Ill message him about meeting in the ready room first thing in the AM. I will set up an appointment with you regarding a psyche appointment, I would with Lt Johnson, however, with you knowing the scenario."

Toni nodded. "I agree with you. We have so few civilians on board this is disturbing we need to guard him better. Do you think Price can't be trusted to do his job or is he hiding stuff from you already?"

"With intel... they always hide something. We need to know who his first priority is to first. Many choose the job. Others choose the ship."

"Just when I was starting to trust him." Toni muttered. "At least with Melor we know he is loyal."

"Just like my father he does what he sees right. Not our way, but the bigger picture. I wouldn't say he's not trustworthy. Just know that information he gets, can be used against us in order to help the bigger picture."

"Gods I hate Intel." Toni said. "They make everything so complicated with their sneaky ways. As if we weren't all working towards the same goal. Why can't they trust us?"

"Intel is sometimes the dirty work that has to be done. Doesn't mean we have to like it sometimes its necessity."

"I know, I know." Toni sighed. "We will just have to wait and see how it goes."

"Yeah." Xavier agreed, "I will make an appointment with you regarding this situation... I gotta admit, my mind is going back to the past."

"I will help." Toni said firmly. "You will get through it."
